Welcome to Naice a Nilme, a fanfiction archive that harbours Aragorn and/or Legolas centered angst, drama and torture stories. If you have written stories like this, either WIP's or completed stories, or if you like to read Aragorn and/or Legolas angst, then this is the right place for you. Stories featuring other characters are also welcome, but remember that Aragorn and Legolas-angst is the heart and soul of this archive. This is a slash and smut free archive, ratings go up until M. Please check the Help page to find out whether your stories are eligible for this archive. We would love to welcome you as an author on Naice a Nilme. This website is a companion to the yahoo list "Owners of Aragorn's Angst". If you love Aragorn, like to discuss his character and want to read/post angsty fanfiction that evolves around him, feel free to join us!
![]() Click to join aragornangst First of all, Happy New Year to all authors, members and visitors of Naice a Nilme. We hope you'll continue to spend your time here and that we can offer Tolkien fans around the world a place to post and read stories! Let's all have a wonderfully angsty 2010 (in fiction only, of course!). That said, in the beginning of 2009 we introduced the Review Pyramid to Naice a Nilme, prompting authors to not only post but leave reviews as well. The goal was to leave at least as many reviews on the site as you got. We have a few members who met that requirement and those are out official Naice a Nilme Top Reviewers 2009, as evidenced by banners being displayed in their profiles. Congrats! If you want to know more about the Pyramid or are interested in playing, check out the explanation. We're looking forward to many stories and reviews from you in 2010!Eleiel Michelle on 01/01/10 02:35 pm (0 Comments)
Review Pyramid We've just entered the last month of 2009 and that means we're on the last stretch of 2009's Review Pyramid. The Pyramid is a little reviewing game you can play on Naice a Nilme. It's our little reminder that should encourage you to review other authors' work. The one and only rule goes as follows: For every review you receive on the archive, leave one for someone else. The count of reviews you got and reviews you wrote should be balanced. Of course, you can always start trying to achieve that goal - even now in December. Michelle on 12/02/09 01:29 pm (0 Comments)
eFiction Update I just updated NAN's software to the latest version (3.5.1.). If you note anything amiss, please comment here! Michelle on 11/30/09 11:40 pm (0 Comments)
Twitter on Profiles As you might have noticed, you have the opportunity to link to various other sites and communities from your profile. Because Twitter seems to become more and more popular among fandom, I have added Twitter to the profile pages. Go to your Edit Bio page and add your username to link visitors to your Twitter page. Please note that NAN has its own Twitter profile. You can follow us here and receive tweets when new stories have been posted. Attention: NAN currently supports the following services:
While on the subject of profile pages: It is suggested to never add email addresses in a clickable way to a profile or story as this will result in more spam for your inbox. All members can be reached by clicking the Contact link in their profile. If you really want to display your email clearly, you might want to consider making it spam-proof by using a service like Hidetext. Michelle on 07/18/09 02:58 pm (0 Comments)
The Review Pyramid A while ago, Amarok told me of her own private plan to leave a review on the archive for every comment she got on one of her stories. I liked that idea very much - it's simple, yet it encourages people to spend time reading and reviewing. Therefore, I decided to propose Amarok's idea to all NAN authors. I've called it the Review Pyramid. Consider it an archive-wide game of sorts. If you're interested in playing, check out this page. Michelle on 01/05/09 04:16 pm (0 Comments)
Happy New Year! Naice a Nilme (with Aragorn and Legolas in tow) wishes all authors, readers and passers-by a happy new year. May 2009 be a good one for you! Michelle on 01/01/09 04:37 pm (0 Comments)
October - Story of the Month
Story of the Month is Linda Hoyland's "A Taste of Honey"! Michelle on 10/10/08 09:14 pm (0 Comments)
NAN on Twitter I'm still playing around with Twitter. I found a way to automatically send NAN's RSS Feed to the service. So I've set up an account solely for NAN, which will give you an additional opportunity to keep track of new stories in the archive. If you have a Twitter account, follow NAN@Twitter to see instantly whether there was an update to the site - you will see both new stories and new chapters. If you want updates practially appearing on your desktop, you might want to check out TwitterFox, which will give you a popup every time the account is updated. Really neat! Story of the Month: October The poll for the story of the month is online. There's quite a selection this month, so don't forget to vote (please note that you have to be logged in to see the vote option)! Michelle on 10/03/08 09:48 pm (0 Comments)
Calling All MEFA Reviewers A few days ago, an email was making the rounds asking all MEFA reviewers to review, review, review. Because after all, this is what makes the MEFAs an unique experience for everyone involved. Of course, with so many stories nominated in so many categories, it might be hard to find just the right story for you. If you're totally lost and don't know where to start, why not review a story hosted on NAN? The following stories archived here are nominated this year: Amarok cairistiona Michelle There are many more of our authors nominated, but for the moment I decided to concentrate on what is actually hosted here. I may or may not make a list for Teitho stories, because from what I've seen a lot of stories are nominated that were originally written for Teitho. But don't count on it, because that will need a lot of digging and clicking links! In any case, nominated authors are invited to pimp their stories in their profiles or add a MEFA button to the story notes! Michelle on 09/20/08 02:08 pm (0 Comments)
